Today, the 30th Dr J.N. Boruah Memorial Lecture is held at CNB College, Bokakhat. The programme is organised by Dr J.N. Boruah Memorial Trust and the Jorhat Branch of Assam Science Society. The programme is collaborated by CNB College, Bokakhat and CSIR, NEIST, Jorhat.
The programme is started with a welcome speech by Dr Himangshu Kaushik Borah, Secretary of Dr J.N. Baruah Memorial Trust.
Dr J.N. Baruah Memorial Lecture is delivered by Professor Dr Jogendra Nath Sarmah, retired professor of the Department of Applied Geology of Dibrughat University.
The event is attended by Dr. Surjit Dutta, Principal, Chandra Nath Bezbarua College, Dr. Pinaki Sengupta, Retired Senior Scientist, North Eastern Institute of Science and Technology, Dr. Manash Pratim Baruah, the son of late Dr. J.N. Baruah, Dr Bichitra Kr Borthakur, President, Assam Science Society, Jorhat Branch, Dr Aditi Bezbaruah, Vice president, Assam Science Society, Jorhat Branch, Mr Ramen Gogoi, Secretary, Assam Science Society, Jorhat Branch, Dr R.L. Goswami, Treasurer, Assam Science Society, Jorhat Branch. Dr J.J. Borah and Dr Lakhi Saikia is attended the programme on behalf of the Director, NEIST, Jorhat and many others.
Dr J.N. Baruah Memorial Young Scientist Award – 2024 is awarded to Dr Pankaj Borah, Micro-Biologist and Asstt. Professor of Tezpur University for his achievements. On the other hand Master Harsh Raj Borah, a student of CNB Senior Secondary School is awarded the Dr J.N. Baruah Memorial Scholarship for the session 2024.
